A boy from 200 years in the future appears at Higeoyaji's house in a time machine. He says he made an emergency landing there while searching for his father. Atom and Higeoyaji help him search for his father, and they start traveling to the ice age in the time machine, but they are captured by a tailed caveman.
This anime episode, conceived and directed by Osamu Tezuka, features a time machine design inspired by Jiro Yamada's invention in the manga "Robot Float".

While the boy from the future remains unnamed in the anime, original artwork identifies him as "Young Rock" (ロック少年). His father is Marukubi Boon (丸首ブーン), a prominent character from Tezuka's Star System cast.
This episode was later adapted into "Time Hunters," episode 120 of Astro Boy, directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino. This adaptation incorporated footage from "The Rebellion of the Dinosaurs" (episode 68) into the present-day dinosaur scene, with new dialogue and music.
