The son of the head of the Ministry of Science: Dr. Boynton, and the boy Astro Boy was made in the image of. His signature cap and unique hairstyle are unmistakable.

Astor Boynton II, esteemed head at the Ministry of Science. His brilliance and persistence led to the creation of the mighty atomic-powered robot: Astro Boy. He would adopt Astro as his surrogate son to replace Astor Boynton III following his unfortunate passing, but Dr. Boynton would soon realize his mistake once his new robot son wasn't growing. Realizing he could never truly replace Astor Boynton III, Dr. Boynton sells Astro Boy to the ringleader of a robot circus.
