THE BRAVE IN SPACE

Shown at Nikkatsu affiliated theaters starting on July 26, 1964, Astro Boy's "The Brave in Space" is a compilation of three separate episodes (Episodes 46 "Robot Spaceship", 56 "Earth Defense Force", and 71 "Earth's Doomsday") with scenes transitioning between stories.

The first part is completely black & white. The second part is entirely in color. And the third part is partially black and white, but makes use of color tinting for backgrounds.

A shorter version of the film titled "Earth Defense Force" featuring only the second part was made as well.
