The manga features Dr. Tenma, Atom's creator, as the head of the Secret Investigation Bureau, with the aliens ultimately searching for a new home. The anime, however, casts Numa in this role.
The story is changed from the manga to a peaceful one where the aliens are shrunk by a special liquid, peacefully settling down in a remote corner of Earth.
This manga "Ambassador Atom" episode is adapted again in episode 184, "The Japanese People from Space".
