The cover of the second Kabba Comics volume (February 1964) features a colorized, recomposed cel from the anime's production.
In the manga, Captain Rencorn, left behind on Mars, built a robot army to defend against future alien invaders. The anime depicts him building a single, large robot tank.
A 3-minute, 30-second segment from episode 3 was reused in episode 53, "Goodbye 1963" (aired December 31, 1963), as Atom shares memories with Uran-chan after she finds a photo of Captain Mars.
The English dub claims this episode takes place in the year of 2080.
Kabet is Captain Rencorn's sister. In the dub, the relationship is changed to that of a father and daughter.
